Wanted: Task and Finish Group Leader

Interested in getting involved in helping Guiding at a County level?

As you will have seen in your Guiding Magazine and emails from HQ, there is a big Membership Growth & Retention campaign being planned to encourage new people to volunteer with Girlguiding, retain leaders as well girls as they transition from one section to another. 
Royal Berkshire County are looking for someone to lead the project to roll out this initiative locally.   This is a task and finish group which will run through to July 2018.

Dodo Challenge Badge

Many of you may have known Anne Eldred, who was a Rainbow Leader - known as Dodo - in Kennet Vale for 20 years. Sadly, last year she lost her battle with cancer, but she left her friends and fellow leaders with a desire to share her love for life with as many people as possible. They have created the Dodo Challenge Badge, which celebrates all the things Anne loved about living.

SkyCamp at Paccar Scout Camp

Senior Section members: how do you fancy spending a weekend living in the trees?

From 29th September to 1st October, Paccar Scout Camp in Chalfont St Peter, Bucks, are running a SkyCamp weekend. The challenge is to spend the weekend off the ground, living, eating, sleeping in the trees on “SkyBases” you have to build! It’s a brilliant weekend that’s lots of fun, and there will be a practice day in advance where staff from the site are on hand to help and advise so everyone can “have a go” first.
