The Senior Section Team

Overview of 2012

We have a new senior section team.
Tina Hinton continued as the Senior Section team leader
Queens guide Advisor role is shared between Aimee Higgs and George Eaton
4 co-ordinator is Toni Cook
Young Leader Advisor is Fay Newbery
Louisa Brogden is also a member of the team.
The senior section team ran a successful I am me day  in November for 13 plus girls which 17 girls attended.  The day was based around the region I am me resource  which portrayed the message that every girl is an individual and should feel confident and empowered to make her own decisions. It reflected the themes within the Girls Attitude survey 2010. The final outcome was the message I Am Me...I make my own choices, and enabled the girls to think about the way they see the world and the way they live their life. A resource was created by the team so that the girls could take the pack to their units and replicate the activities spreading the word further. Each girl received either a metal badge, cloth badge or wristband as a reminder of the day.

Other news

A Facebook page was set up initially for senior section leaders within Berkshire. Throughout the year the group has expanded and it has now gone national with 53 members.

Forthcoming events

Over the next year we are planning an 18-30 leaders weekend at Thirtover. Weekend of 14-16th June and also in October we plan to run a Reading monopoly run.
