The County President on 2013

I have had another wonderful year as your County President, so many girls and leaders to meet, lots of awards to gladly present, and as always I applaud all your hard work, dedication and time that you all give to Girlguiding Royal Berkshire. I look forward to hearing about the County International Visit to Iceland at our Annual Review in March.

I am also County President for the Berkshire Trefoil Guilds and we all enjoyed celebrating the National 70th Birthday in style during the year , do come and join us!

We were all elated to hear of the MBE being given to Janet Shurmer (past County and Division Commissioner, Co-Founder of WINGS, and County Life Vice President) in June, and presented to her by Her Majesty, the Queen at Windsor Castle in November, and then so sadly taken from us in early December, we thank her for all her Guiding in Berkshire as a girl to an adult and Trefoil Guild member.

Our grateful thanks also must go to our County Commissioner, Jenny King, and Karen Burrows and Sue Jones who assist her, in their tireless work for you all.

I would also like to thank all those Commissioners, Advisers and Administrators who have finished their terms of appointment as volunteers and hope they find new challenges to inspire them.

With 2014 upon us, we have lots to look forward to, the Big Brownie Birthday - yes we don’t look 100, do we? WINGS in August, and in between the fun that Girlguiding brings us all.

Thank You all once again,

Jane
