1st Response
1st Response Sunday 24th November 2024 9.30 am to 4.00 pm
If the course is showing as full please email countyadmin@girlguidingroyalberkshire.org.uk to be placed on a waiting list.
1st Response is Girlguiding's own first aid course. It will train you to provide first aid to members in emergencies - in or outside of your unit meeting place. The course was created specifically for members of Girlguiding and The Scout Association. It is valid for three years. 1st Response can be completed by anyone in a volunteer role within Guiding. This includes Leaders, Young Leaders (14yrs+), Unit Helpers and District/Division Occasional Helpers. Leaders in Training (who do not hold a first aid certificate) and Commissioners are required to attend this course.
If you have a first aid certificate you may not need to complete the 1st response course. If your certificate covers all of this list and was at least 6 hours in duration you will only need to complete the Girlguiding first response e-learning. To have your external certificate verified and added to GO please see all the information on our region website
There is also a 15 min e learning to complete. The e-learning can be completed before or after the full training course, and must be completed in order to be recognised as a first aider in Girlguiding.
The 1st Response course is valid for 3 years from the date it is awarded.
Cost £25.00 (You will be emailed on how to make payment, this is a legitimate unit expense.)
